Meeting the Challenge of Change - tests for trainee teachers
In December 1998 Green Paper Teachers - meeting the challenge of change was presented to parliament. This document announced plans to introduce new national tests for all trainee teachers in numeracy, literacy and ICT. Mention is made of increasing the number of classroom assistants and how ICT can reduce the administrative burden on classroom teachers
