An innovative development to recognise the 900th anniversary of the Domesday Book.

The BBC Domesday project was a pioneering technical achievement matched by a unique mass participation data gathering mapping every kilometre square in the UK with descriptive text and photgraphs. In addition, authoritative material to represent life in the middle 1980s, including video footage and social data mapped to the nation, created a comprehensive document recorded on laser disc.
