DESCRIPTION:Playing for Success (PfS) was a national initiative establ
 ished in 1997 as a partnership between the Department for Children\, S
 chools and Families (DCSF)\, local authorities and the FA Premier Leag
 ue and their clubs. It expanded to include a broad range of sports\, r
 esulting in 18 different sports represented in PfS by 2008. Through Pl
 aying for Success\, the DCSF and partners established study support ce
 ntres within sports clubs' grounds and sporting venues. The centres op
 en out of school hours and cater mainly for pupils aged between 10 and
  14 who need extra help with their literacy\, numeracy and ICT skills.
  The aim is to utilise the motivational environment of the sports club

 nge of professional sports\, including cricket and rugby.
