 ed in 1979 at the end of the National Development Programme in Compute
 r Assisted Learning (Hooper\, 1977) and operated an international info
 rmation centre on computer assisted learning and training. It built up
  an extensive collection of books and reports which were transferred t
 o the College library when the project came to an end in 1984.
